On Wednesday, 2 November, Rev Sue Ellis was installed as the new Moderator for the Presbytery and Synod of South Australia, following on from the excellent work of Dr Deidre Palmer who has now completed her three-year term.
Sue was a school teacher before entering ministry, beginning as a parish assistant in the Flinders Parish and then a Lay Minister. As an ordained Minister, Sue has served in both rural and urban ministry placements. She has experience in aged care and police chaplaincy, and is keenly interested in discipleship and intergenerational worship. Sue is forward looking and future oriented. She has contributed to the work of the Synod in a variety of roles and on Assembly committees.
Sue is married to Rob, and they share a blended family.
Sue’s vision for the Presbytery/Synod is linked to the mustard seed image in Matthew’s gospel, which shelters, nurtures, and provides. Deeply rooted in Christ, the Church is called to grow into a place of nurture and discipleship, hospitality and caring compassion.
Please pray for Sue as she begins her three-year term as Moderator. (From The Urban Mission Network Bulletin)
