Weddings

Couples are welcome to celebrate their wedding at Scots Church.  Our office staff can help you begin the booking process. A key issue to remember is that a Notice of Intention to Marry must be returned, signed and witnessed, to the minister at least one month before the wedding.

The cost of a wedding at Scots Church is $1315.00, which includes the organist and flowers.  After payment of a deposit of $150.00, the date and availability of the minister can be confirmed. People may choose to use their own organist or musicians, but there will be no reduction in the set fee.  Although people are welcome to have their own minister assist in the service, a minister from Scots will officiate.  The Uniting Church also gives the minister final discretion about the content of the service.

Because of litter laws, and the general difficulty with cleaning, people may use bubbles as part of the celebration after the service, but rice, confetti or petals are not permitted. The Marriage Act also places some restrictions and requirements upon us. As religious celebrants, the ministers are required to perform a religious service.

Baptisms
Except in extreme circumstances, baptisms are always conducted as part of the Sunday service. Baptism is a precious symbol. Baptism is available for adults, children or infants. The minister must gain approval from the Church Council to perform a baptism, so please contact Scots well in advance of any plans you may have.  It may not be possible to reserve particular dates.  There is no cost for baptisms.

You are welcome to have your Undertaker contact the church with requests for funeral services.
